Wow. John McCain actually said something I agree with.
When asked about the s0-called stimulus package, he chided his fellow senators and called it "...intergenerational theft." Right on John. Right on!
I may not agreed with very much Senator McCain has ever said ( and yes, I held my nose when voting for him in Novemeber 2008), but he's got this one right. The current bill before congress is an abomination. It is a giant money-grab by those who believe that government is the answer.
Government is not the answer, government is the PROBLEM. ( Thank you Ronald Reagan!)
It is a money-grab by those who would never spend their own money on many of the programs they are attempting to fund...but who would gladly spend yours.
I love what Jim Quinn said on his radio program this morning: just drop the 35% corporate income tax if you REALLY want to see some stimulus. It would absolutely work. And for those who would complain and say " How do we PAY for the tax cut?" I say two things...
First, Are you kidding me!! Why do the Democrats always say that we have to PAY for tax cuts anyway? When we have more bills than income in our house, we CUT OUR SPENDING!!!...like most other Americans outside the beltway. Why should congress be different?
Second, WHEN are you going to understand that when you offer incentives to the PRODUCERS...ie, business owners, ie, those who hire people, you stimulate growth and investment. Producers will risk their capital, hire more and produce more. Incomes will go up...and so will receipts to the treasury.
I find it laughable ( if not insulting!) that this so-called stimulus plan would offer "tax cuts" to those who really don't even PAY any taxes!
These senators are either A) too stupid to understand the implications of their actions, or B) so blinded by the greed of their own party that they simply will not do what is best for the country. Rather, they will squander nearly $1 Trillion of mine, yours, and our children's , and our grandchildren's money.
Truly Intergenerational Theft.
Truly despicable
